If you love art, any art, please add your name to my petition. All writers, musicians, painters, playwrights: you all know how this kind of gatekeeping can shape how people interact with works of art. Add your name and help me correct a literary mistake that has been ongoing for many years. Today I am sharing my petition to push S Fischer Verlag and Suhrkamp Verlag to publish a smaller and more affordable copy of Arno Schmidt's Zettels Traum. With most copies costing over €200 and being so large they are unreadable, this novel is effectively gate-kept, preventing most interested readers from obtaining and engaging with the text. Sign my petition and please mention S Fischer and Suhrkamp when talking about Schmidt's work and the need for more affordable and accessible editions. Art is for all, and this kind of gatekeeping only fosters resentment towards complex and necessary works of art in our society. S Fischer and Suhrkamp, please do the right thing: publish smaller paperback editions, and price them under €50. LET'S WORK TOGETHER TO END GATEKEEPING IN ALL ARTISTIC COMMUNITIES! Share this widely! We can fight the gatekeeping together!
